ANGLESEY started operating in 1997 and caters for
car and bike circuit racing, single event stage rallies and rallycross. There is also a racing school. Once owned by the
Army the tank tracks have gone and you now have a superb location with excellent viewing. The circuit locations
disadvantage is its proximity to the Irish Sea which can whip up a real variety of weather. Take water proofs and
get ready for wind. On dry days the location is brilliant and worth the visit. Weather won't matter to die-hard fans
so if this is the first you've heard of Anglesey give them a ring for an event list, or visit their official website.
MAJOR REVISION The circuit was been changed beyond recognition during 2006/2007 and opened for the
first event in May 2007. When we have visited we will update the circuit layout and information. You can view
the new circuit at their website. |

VIEWING -
Start/Finish STRAIGHT A clockwise circuit with the main straight containing the start/finish line.
The gradients at Anglesey make for an exciting challenge for drivers and riders. From 'the hairpin' to 'school'
there is a blind crest then drop towards the sea.
We need to drive the circuit to give a full idea of the layout but we can provide some ideas of what you will
experience on a visit.
SCHOOL A sweeping curve to the uphill section towards 'rocket. School is either taken at fast speed off
the main downhill straight, or a sharp right off the corkscrew. Best viewed from the banked area between school and
the sea.
ROCKET From the long curve of church or school into a short uphill gradient and brake hard for a 90 degree short
curve left hander into the tight 180 degree right at rocket. The there it is a short straight up to peel.
Spectator banking on outfield
PEEL A moderate right hander leads to a blind crest towards the amazing corkscrew.
CORSKCREW Not used on the International GP circuit as the moderate left hander banks down onto the tom
pryce straight. Otherwise the corkscrew mimics Laguna Seca although mirrored. Blind crest right followed sudden drop
towards school.
Good views from the outfield at school

ACCESS -
The paddock is generally accessible. Facilities for spectators tend to be of the
'mobile' variety for food. Overall Anglesey is a track for the enthusiast who enjoys close-up action with little pampering.
Don't forget that as tracks get more popular the run-off areas get wider, so pay a visit whilst the action is really in front
of you. |
