MONDELLO PARK found in Co. Kildare, Eire. At two and a quarter miles it has everything a spectator could want. Reconstruction in 1998 retained the narrow track width which sees drivers using more than black-top to overtake. You can always expect a good welcome from the home based fans.

Set near Naas on Eire's East side it's easily found South West of Dublin.

VIEWING -
At two and a quarter miles the circuit is long and flowing. Just noting the lap record at well under a minute shows how quickly a driver can get round. Yes, Mondello is in the Irish Republic and 'yes' it's a long way from the UK, but given the chance you'll visit an excellent circuit with all the off circuit attractions Eire has to offer.

START/FINISH
The straightest of straights with the start close to the first corner which limits speed on first lap entry. Thereafter it's a super high-speed slight down gradient ensuring plenty of action.
Outfield viewing.

COCA-COLA
A 180 degree stretched oval arrived at high-speed through a slight right into the braking area. Overtaking attempts on entry and mid corner are sometimes attempted which means the run-off gets some use.
Outfield viewing of all the action, of which there is plenty. This is also a good camera point.

OPEL
Immediately after Coca-Cola they swing left through this high speed corner clipping the outfield kerb and travelling slightly uphill onto the straight.
Spectator banking on the outfield with a good view of Coca-Cola.

BRIDGESTONE
First part of the corner is a fast right then into a sharp near hairpin right with run-offs.
Close action and some attempts at out braking can happen. Outfield viewing.

ESSES
Downhill entry into a tight left-hander then uphill on exit. The run-off is also tight.
Spectator banking on outfield although not the best viewing point compared to others.

PARABOLICA
Tight in and open out right bend with large run-off area.
Outfield banking provides a good view of the whole corner action.

TARZAN
As square a corner as Melbourne at Donington. Double apex right after a long straight from Parabolica. Opposite to Donington in that the corner is uphill on entry and downhill on exit with plenty of run-off.
Outfield viewing from banking although not overly exciting. For camera's you can at least get a decent slow shot.

S-BEND
Tight, but fast right into a an open left with little speed being scrubbed. There's run-offs as some drivers decide to take the unofficial line intentionally or more usually by accident.
Spectator banking on the outfield.

HAIRPIN
Narrow track but wide curve for this left hand hairpin with more large run-off area beyond.
Spectators can stand on the inside of the bend for a good view of the action.

LEFT HANDER
Fast left with use of the apex kerbing on a downhill section. Some lifting off but little braking.
Infield viewing.

DUNLOP
More of a hairpin than the named one. It's a tight 160 degree right before the main straight with out-braking attempts sometimes made. The entry is uphill but over a brow before the turn so some get it wrong and end up in the gravel.
Outfield viewing producing plenty of action. As it's before the finish straight drivers will try and take places in the braking arae and exit. Good camera point.

ACCESS -
Paddock is on the main straight infield over a bridge and access is generally free. The track has a bar and restaurant with improvements being made continually to facilities.
