VIEWING -
Oulton Park is favourite here. It's a brilliant spectator circuit with facilities improving every year, but still having that hands-on feel for fans. Viewing around most of the circuit is superb with positions on both outfield and infield. The main straight to Old Hall gets you very close to high-speed action and overlooking Knickerbrook from the infield hill is spectacular. On Touring Car days get there early as fans arrive in their thousands, although there's still chance of a good spot but parking is in fields which can mean quite a walk. Don't spend the event in one place as there's so much to see.

START/FINISH
Between Deer Leap and Old Hall where drivers and riders can get up a real head of steam even from the start.
Outfield viewing is on banking so get nearer to Old Hall as you won't believe the vehicles will manage to get round at this speed.

OLD HALL
A very fast cambered right hander with limited last second braking. Overtaking in all categories of racing takes place, either in the braking point or mid corner. The exit has the pit exit which, on occasions has caused problems as drivers misjudge re-joining.
Best viewed from Old Hall entry banking.

THE AVENUE & DENTONS
From Old Hall it's a blast along The Avenue straight feeding into a downhill section called Dentons which is a right kink. This is where many a driver gets pushed off either by others or through exuberance. If a driver hits the outfield grass at speed they can end up smashing into the tire wall at a frightening rate. Thankfully the run off is quite large.
Best viewed from either the infield hill or outfield near Knickerbrook.

INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT

CASCADES
A deep and fast left-hander where speed needs drastically reducing if the corner is to be made from the downhill section after Dentons.
View from Knickerbrook or infield hill.

LAKESIDE
A long straight flowing either into the fast Island Bend on the International circuit or cut short for the Island Hairpin on the Island Ciruit.
Viewing is best nearer to Knickerbrook or Island Hairpin exit on the outfield.

ISLAND CIRCUIT

ISLAND HAIRPIN
A tight 180 degree right to Hill Top which is where it is situated. Braking hard on a left side line on entry riders will clip the hairpin inside kerb and use a wide line on exit to increase speed for the fast ride down to Knickerbrook.
Viewing is best nearer to Knickerbrook or Island Hairpin exit on the outfield.

ISLAND BEND
It is possible to take Island Bend without slowing, but takes a lot of commitment on this wide left curve feeding Shell.
The lake on the outfield limits views and viewing is best at home on TV.

SHELL OILS CORNER
A 180 hairpin right which is steeply banked. It needs to be with the lake very close. Some overtaking is possible.
No viewing.

FOULSTONS & HILLTOP
From Shell drivers/riders put on as much speed as possible on the long right curve to Foulstons chicane as the latter offers little chance to overtake and immediately thereafter it's a fast run down to Knickerbrook. Foulstons is a flick right then left on a parallel chicane onto the straight over Hill Top brow.
Little action and poor viewing as the hill brow is after the exit.

KNICKERBROOK
On the International circuit Knickerbrook is the first braking point from Hill top. It's a fairly open chicane, but needs skill to avoid the run-off. The chicane flicks right then left with a tight exit causing many to chance their luck by going over the infield exit kerb.
Irrespective of the circuit being used, Knickerbrook viewing is superb. The whole lower point of Oulton can be seen from the infield or outfield hill.

FOSTERS CIRCUIT

CASCADES & FOSTERS
A 30 degree left bend on the Fosters circuit with little braking and plenty of overtaking attempts. Immediately after the apex vehicles must brake and get a nearside line to maintain a consistent pace through Fosters, an acute right hander.
View from Knickerbrook or infield hill.

KNICKERBROOK
Out of Fosters, Knickerbrook is the start of a long run up through Clay Hill. A clean exit means the possibility of overtaking up Clay Hill or slipstreaming to the braking point at Druids Corner.
Irrespective of the circuit being used, Knickerbrook viewing is superb. The whole lower point of Oulton can be seen from the infield or outfield hill. On the Fosters circuit the lesser powered cars can try and maintain too much speed as after the exit it's a real struggle for some to gain momentum up the hill effectively.

CLAY HILL
A steep incline under the spectator foot bridge with a blind brow.
Again Knickerbrook and infield hill offer best views.

WATER TOWER & DRUIDS CORNER
Water Tower is a slight left creating the entry to Druids. Water may seem insignificant but the line taken dictates what happens through the long high speed right hand curve of Druids. Cars can attempt to overtake at Tower, but many end up using the long run-off on Druids outfield apex. If they don't hit the barrier they will usually re-join the track.
View from the infield. It's fast and limited viewing, but worth a visit as there can be some real skill used. Very fast, but good for cameras as they the corner is consistent for panning.

LODGE CORNER
From Druids cars and bikes get up to full speed along the straight to the infamous Lodge Corner. The attainable speed will see overtaking either on the straight or in the braking point at Lodge. Some overtaking is attempted mid-corner at this tight right hander which immediately goes downhill into Deer Leap. The run-off has been extended twenty feet due to traversing of the tire wall but you're still close enough to feel the action. It's a difficult corner and many drivers think they can enter faster than they should. Plenty of off-track excursions.
Lodge is the main entrance for spectators on this side of the circuit. It's also a crossing point between races. This means it gets packed for viewing and crossing. If you get their early you'll need to stake a claim for this thrilling corner. If you can get a position on the outfield nearer to Dear Leap make sure you keep it. You're very close to the action, of which there is plenty. Don't bother with a camera at a packed meeting as your arms will be knocked by the crowd. If you get bored, which is unlikely the TV camera is on a boom and is hypnotic watching as it follows the racers.

DEER LEAP
Often taken off-tarmac as cars make a mess of Druids. It's a big dip leading onto the main straight.
Viewing is good, but see Lodge Corner comments.

ACCESS -
The paddock is on the infield behind the start/finish line. Access is usually very good with plenty of room. At big meetings the paddock gets very busy as it is the route used when walking from Knickerbrook to Lodge. Plenty of food is available. Toilet facilities now far better, but we suggest locating one well before you need them.
